Work: Who Can you Trust?

Can you trust the people who run the store?
Can you trust the supervisor’s or management?
Can you trust your co-workers?
Can you trust yourself?
Can you trust that nobody will say anything about you?
Can you trust that people can listen to your complaints, and not make them into a big deal, and tell everyone making the problem seem bigger than it really is?

Did you know that more then half of people who work cannot trust the people who employ them?

Did you know that more then half of YOUR employee’s have a problem with either you, or others in the workplace?

The staff members at YOUR restaurant need a safe place to go, and a good CLIMATE! Do any of you know what Climate actually really is? Respect! Trust!

Most people get jobs for four important reasons:

1. To make money
2. Escape problems at home
3. Socialize/make friends

4. To gain work experience

Do you actually think you’ll run a good store, if someone is unhappy?

You probably didn’t!

That ONE person can change the way everybody feels.

When you look around, do you see happy people? Or do you see people with a thousand masks, masking their true emotions? Emotions, that they are afraid if they say something, then someone is going to say something? Or make the problem fall directly on them, when really; the problem is everyone.

I myself, is that person; putting a face on when I go to work, so everybody thinks that I am happy… however, am I? No. Not really. In fact, I can see right through everyone’s little “face”. In about 2-3 years, I am hoping to come out with a book `A Person with a Thousand Faces. We are like diamonds, you and I.

Who am I?

I am just an ordinary person, who studies human behaviour; and if you are not happy with yourself, then, are your employees?

To conclude this blog, I would like to say this:

"Change how you feel about yourself"

To run a good business, it all starts with the management/supervisors.

Technology: Is it consuming our lives?

Technology can be a wonderful boon to humankind, but sometimes we abuse it in ways that prevent us from really participating in life.
~Steven Shapiro

What is usually the first thing you do when you wake up? What is the last thing you usually do before you go to bed? This question is a good one.

Did you know that 89% of Canada's population spend 5-10 hours a day watching either television, or sitting around the computer? Why is this? Has our way of living actually started to become less and less interesting? That instead of living life to the fullest, we would rather watch celebrities play a role of a character that is similar to you, and doing the things you could be doing?

I know, I may seem really hypocritical, because if I wasn't with technology, I wouldn't be writing on this blog. I would be writing in a newspaper article. I am actually one of those 89% that after work, instead of calling up friends and doing something, I fall asleep watching television.

Why is it that as a society, we'd rather watch other people's lives be lived on TV or on the computer; then live our own day to day? With this type of percentage, this means that out of all of Canada, only 3.5 million people spend less than 5 hours in front of the television and/or the computer; and the rest of the 29 million of us (myself included) spend more than 5 hours watching other people live their lives.

I say yes that technology is consuming our lives, making it harder to participate in activities, getting to know other people, having our own memories; instead of television episode memories. Where ever you look, whatever house you pass in your car, whatever conversation you overhear...

Watch... Look... Listen...

You will see someone on the computer, or overhear conversations about what last episode they watched of their favourite TV show. So why can't we just put the remote down and pick up the phone to create our own memories? Because it is all right there, easy access to entertainment.

The television and computer helps bring us easy entertainment; gives us something to talk about, and passes time. Well, that is something we do not have much of... time.

We only live once, and don't you want to have you OWN memories? And be able to look back on your life when your old and say "Fuck yeah, I lived the best life I could have". Instead, the 29 million of us are going to say "Fuck yeah, that episode was great!"

So, get up from watching television, live your own life! Don't spend all your time watching TV, or playing on the computer... because someday you'll look back...

And wonder...

Where did all the time in your life go.

Homosexuality

Why is it as a society, we'd rather see two men holding guns; rather than two men holding hands?"
~ Claire Pontague

As a Heterosexual, I don't know why people think that Homosexuals are "disgusting", or "in the wrong".

Is it really that much of a difference from the traditional man and woman? For centuries there was always just one way of doing things. A certain way one gender feels about another gender, or a certain way one gender acts.

Well, get with the times people, get used to change! Everyday things change. Change has been changing since the beginning of time!

Why would homosexual's disgust someone? It is not like the man who is attracted to other men, or females attracted to other females are going to be allover you...

Here is a good thing to think about!

Guys (heterosexual): Are you attracted to all females in the world?
Girls heterosexual): Are you attracted to all males in the world?

Your answer will probably be No!

So, here is something to think about.. Why do you think that all gays/lesbians are attracted to the same sex? Why do you think that they are attracted to you? Chances are, they aren't.

Why can't people just accept that times are changing, and other people feel differently towards the same sex, you might feel towards the opposite sex?

They aren't hurting anyone! They are not talking, or looking at you. So, why do you care so much that people are gay/lesbian?

It isn't disgusting, it isn't necessarily wrong. And if so, who made these rules up? I know in the Christian Bible it says it is wrong. However, some people cannot help it. Some people are born that way. Just like some people are born heterosexual.

Here is a quick story: I work with this female who is dating this guy, where his son, would rather play with teacups, then race cars. Is this kid going to be homosexual? Maybe not! Not all homosexual/lesbians are like the opposite sex.

Metrosexuals (like myself): A straight man who embraces the homosexual lifestyle, i.e. refined tastes in clothing, excessive use of designer hygiene products, etc. However, is NOT ATTRACTED TO THE SAME SEX.

So, again why are you disgusted by homosexuals/lesbians? Some of the homosexuals act more manly then the heterosexual males. And some lesbians act more feminine then the heterosexual females.

We (as a society) would rather see violence then love... Doesn't this disturb you just a little bit?

Celebrities

Have you ever wonder why we think celebrities are so amazing? Why we look up to them? And not everyday average people we know personally? This question has been bothering me for sometime.

Ever since I was a boy growing up, celebrities were being looked at, as if, they were a god. I don't see why! So sure they have MILLIONS, and they are seen on movies that produce millions and millions. But, why are we, as a society, so interested in them and there lives? What they do on the time off? Where would they be without the audience watching their shows?

I was watching MTV a couple days ago, and this one female from the crowd touch one of the Jonas Brothers; and fainted on national live television. Another couple hundred were crying and screaming! We would actually make fools of ourselves for what? What is so great about these 3 brothers?

WHY?? WHY DID SHE FAINT??

Celebrities are just ordinary people that play a part in movies. They don't have superpowers. They are just like you and me.
UNLESS!
Is Jessica Alba really a superhero at night, and a multi-million dollar actress at day? HOW DOES SHE FIT IT ALL IN HER BUSY SCHEDULE!
The truth is people, the obvious answer is that... they are not superheros. They are not the same people you see them playing in the movies. They are like us. They have flaws, just like everyone of us.
SO, next time you watch a movie, television show, etc. Remember this, there is nothing great about celebrities. If you want to admire someone, get inspired by someone who is rich... or even not rich, look at the ordinary people around you. Like a doctor (saves lives), a teacher (educates the actors, and yourself); without a teacher, where would any of us be?

Beginning

Well, it is about 4:30 in the morning, and I cannot sleep; I decided to look up random things on the internet. My favourite television shows, actors, singers, Facebook, and so on. Until I scrolled down and say this one bloggers little website, and it got me thinking, that maybe I should start doing this whole “blogging” thing, since it is a way to get out what I have been wanting to say about some issues, and say it with some humour if I feel the need to. This moment I am having right now is feeling like a déjà vu! So, I guess this is where it all starts…

Where do I start exactly? Well, I guess you'll have to wait and see.
